Waterproofing
Waterproofing of concrete structures
by mineralization.
It is a structural waterproofing intervention. In fact, the concrete
is waterproofed from inside.
|
 |
The process starts on the surface and
migrates inwards. With this feature the waterproofed structure does
not need any further protection. It has a unlimited duration, and the
waterproofing is guaranteed both in positive and negative thrust up
to 25 atm.

The intervention of waterproofing consists of the following
stages:
Surface preparation by mechanical removal of the concrete defects
• Opening of the capillary by water wash at 250 atm
• Concrete reprofiling by applying waterproofing grout and anti-shrinkage
mortar
• Water wash of the surfaces
• Application of 2 fresh-on-fresh layers of X-tra
(capillary penetration cement)
• Hydration of the surfaces for a few days
Types of executable interventions (on concrete structures
only):
Raft foundations
• Basements
• Elevator shafts
• Depuration tanks
• Drinkable water reservoirs
• Marine structures
• Structures in contact with sulfureous water
• Structures subjected to high water pressure
The concrete microcracks are closed (see picture) by X-tra through crystalization.
X-tra blocks humidity and infiltratrations
Underground water penetrates concrete and rises towards the surface
through capillary and microcracks without hindrances; the consequences
will be mould, humidity, infiltrations both on the floor and on the
walls.

X-tra
waterproofs concrete by creating a crystalline barrier that expands
inside the capillaries and reacts against infiltrations day after day.
