The intervention takes place in the following phases:

1. Preparation
Clean the application zone to the healthy and compact concrete

2. Application
Place the joint AK 25 with a 8 cm concrete confinement. The spacers of the frameworks (in wood, plastic, concrete, or other) must be placed at a distance of at least 5 cm from the horizontal plane. In case of construction joints 20 to 40 cm wide, install the joint AK 25 at half width. For larger construction joints, it is advisable to apply two joints AK 25, as a precaution.
Secure the joint AK 25 by steel nails every 20-30 cm. To obtain a correct functioning of the joint AK 25, be sure that the profile is in direct contact with the support. If necessary adapt it to the surface with a large base hammer. For the conjunction of the joints AK 25, it is sufficient to overlap them for roughly 5 cm.

3. Protection and precautions
After the application of AK 25, maintain all the zone of interest clean until the concrete casting.

4. Irregular surfaces
When the waterstop AK 25 needs to be secured on irregular surfaces, use the hydroexpansive sealing Expanso to improve adherence and to guarantee a good sealing of the construction joint.

Expanso is also used as a seal on anchoring iron bars to avoid localized penetration of water in manufacts.
